One of the customs during the Spring Festival is to pay a visit to all of your relatives and friends. This is also the time everybody returns to their hometown. Usually at every stop you get fed a meal. To honor this tradition (and possibly to give him some face for bringing a foreigner to the village), Melody's uncle took us all over town introducing us to all sorts of distant relatives whom Melody couldn't even figure out her relation to.
