The guy on the right is Melody's youngest uncle, (mother's brother) and to the left is her mother's sister's husband. The funny thing about Chinese is that each different family position has it's own titles...therefore for example the maternal aunt, the paternal aunt, the maternal uncle's wife and the paternal uncle's wife all have different titles, whereas in English we would simply call them all "aunt." As Melody's boyfriend I am supposed to address all of these relatives with their titles (in relation to her) rather than their given names.
