Bringing a dog on the train was even more difficult due to the fact that Spring Festival (the reason we were going to Sanming, Melody's hometown) is the busiest travel time of the year in China. During a period of two weeks over 300,000 people travel, most of whom are returning to their hometowns. The train can become so packed that it sometimes takes nearly half an hour to make your way through a single train car.
