Here's the guy we rented the boat from. His wife, his teenage son, and the son's pet turtle came along with us for the ride. They couldn't speak any Mandarin, and I can't speak any Cantonese, so we had to rely on writing Chinese characters on our cell phones for communication. While Mandarin and Cantonese are totally different spoken languages, the written language is the same.
