So this past summer I was supposed to get my Chinese visa extended in the US (you have to leave mainland China to do this), but my school botched the paperwork. So instead, I had to go to the Chinse embassy in Hong Kong to get my visa processed. It ended up working out pretty well because the school paid for my plane ticket.
