Karakul Lake is a very peaceful place. They had little yurts (large sleeper tents) that you could stay in near the lake. But thanks to the noise from highway construction, peace and quiet wasn't as easily attainable here as we envisioned, so we decided to pass on the yurts, and continue on to Tashkurgan.
