This is the old mosque in Kaifeng. Apparently it was spared in a massive real estate rebuilding endeavor. Actually, this is quite a common site to see in China...entire city blocks demolished to make room for new buildings. Unfortunately, most old unique buildings are not as lucky as this mosque.
