The Forbidden City was where the Chinese royalty ruled from before Sun Yat Sen's revolution.  It was called the "forbidden" city because regular citizens were not allowed to enter.  Now, anybody can enter, as long as you pay the admission price.  They even have a Starbuck's inside.  And no, that is not a joke.
